[Campus Operations Notice]

September 23, 2022

Planned Elevator Shutdown in the Field Building at 17 Lexington Avenue on Tuesday, September 27, 6–11 am

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Campus Facilities and Operations is continuing to work to improve the elevator service in the Field Building at 17 Lexington Avenue (17 Lex). The new equipment for these elevators is in need of adjustments to optimize reliability and service.

Work toward that end has been scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, September 27, from 6 to 11 am. At that time, all elevators in 17 Lex will be out of service.

Though there are no classes scheduled at Baruch on September 27—in observance of Rosh Hashanah—we realize that this work will impact those who are scheduled or plan to come to campus that day. Therefore, we ask that you please plan accordingly with your department head or supervisor.

Please note that 17 Lex will be otherwise functional during this time (computer connectivity, restrooms, etc.), and anyone who might opt to use the stairway is welcome to do so.

Baruch Campus Facilities and Operations is working continuously with our counterpart teams at CUNY and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, which oversees facilities operations for public buildings such as ours, to rectify the issue as quickly as possible.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Tom Gaimaro
Director, Facilities Planning
