Improving Elevator Service in the Information and Technology Building (ITB):

Early Morning Power Shutdown on Wednesday, May 31

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

As part of Baruch College’s ongoing facilities upgrades, we are replacing critical parts of the Information and Technology Building (ITB) power system, which supplies electricity to the building’s elevators. A second and final shutdown is required to complete this work.

Planned for off-hours to minimize disruption, the upcoming work is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31, from 5 am to 8 am.

What to You Need to Know

  * Desktop Computers: ITB occupants should save work on their computers prior to the shutdown, whether working remotely or onsite, and expect that computers in the ITB will not be available during the shutdown.
  * Building Closure: The entire building will be closed to all students, faculty, and staff during the power shutdown.
  * Elevators: ITB elevators 4, 5, and 8 will be offline and remain offline until Monday, June 5. Elevators 1, 2, 3, and 7 will be operational and serve all floors. (Elevator 6 is still under construction.)
  * Other North Campus Buildings: The other North Campus buildings will not be affected.

Please reach out to me<mailto:[log in to unmask]> if you have any questions.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we modernize and upgrade Baruch’s campus.

Sincerely,

Tom Gaimaro

Director, Facilities Planning and Construction
