About the Program

The conference provides a forum for interaction between business, public accounting, academics, and policy setters from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). It also examines the current best practices of ethics and independence within the auditing profession. The conference is organized in partnership with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy's Center for the Public Trust.

Up to 8 hours of CPE in Auditing are available upon completion of this program.

Analytical procedures have been integral to the audit for as long as we can remember. Mountains of data and the increasing ability to efficiently gather and analyze it provide auditors new opportunities to gain insight, assess risk and accumulate audit evidence. The panel will focus on how audit firms are looking to expand use of analytical tools to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency.

The Global Audit Issues panel will discuss current events of concern and interest to the global auditing community, including violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and recent changes in independence regulation impacting global audits. The panel will also discuss the major concerns of auditors undertaking cross-border audits, such as the difficulty of maintaining audit quality when multiple regulatory regimes must be considered.
