Baruch College and The Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity to be Featured in PBS Business Ethics Program

Baruch College and The Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity play a prominent role in an upcoming episode of WLIW21's Business Ethics in the 21st Century in which host Bill Baker identifies an unexpected new consensus in the business world: long-term profits are impossible without long-term concern for society and the environment.

Baker finds answers to some tough questions: Who do we blame for the economic collapse and the jobless recovery: individuals or a system without accountability? Are CEOs paid too much? How do companies balance profit and their core values? Is the internet a humanizing force in the marketplace? Is values-based business the way of the future?

Interviewed in this episode: Baruch College alumnus Lawrence Zicklin; Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity Director Donald Schepers; Yvon Chouinard, who turned Patagonia from a small, independent business into a $300 million empire without sacrificing his core mission; Gary Erickson, who built Clif Bar from his desire for a healthier way to recharge; and Beth Saurhaft, who oversees PepsiCo’s sustainability in North America. The remarkable individuals and companies profiled in this episode are part of the growing consensus in American business who "aim to do it right."

Catch the episode featuring ZCCI and Baruch College on WLIW21 on Thursday, July 7 at 7 pm and Thursday, July 14 at 5 am or on Channel 13 Saturday, July 16 at 1 pm and Sunday, July 17 at 11:30 pm.
