Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

To the Baruch College Community,

Baruch College celebrates the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

After launching the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center) in 1968, Coretta Scott King led a national campaign that established Dr. King’s birthday as a federal holiday on November 2, 1983. Nearly 11 years later, on August 23, 1994, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Holiday was designated as a National Day of Service (learn more about the history of the holiday here).

We encourage Baruch College community members to celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the upcoming holiday weekend and week. With that in mind, we offer the following list of MLK Day 2024 resources, programs, and events, each providing a unique experience.
