December 12, 2023 A Time for Reflection and Gratitude To the Baruch Community, As the fall semester comes to a close and various holiday celebrations are underway, we look to the new year and reflect on what was—and hope for what will be. We live
in challenging and uncertain times, and while this year has been a difficult one for many in our community, I remain hopeful and optimistic, buoyed by the strength that comes from our resilience and our common vision of creating life-changing experiences for
our students, faculty, and staff to make a transformative impact on our world. At Baruch College, we will begin the new year with a new chapter of exploration and opportunity, as we embark on the first full year of our five-year strategic plan. Our
vision for the future is powered by learning and intellectual discovery, with a steadfast commitment to innovative teaching, research, and collaboration that bring positive change to our world. I am excited to take this journey with you, as we shape Baruch into a national model for excellence, access, and outcomes. Throughout the year, I will share milestones
and achievements as our strategic plan comes to life, including in my blog, which is being reimagined from a monthly communication to a periodic one, featuring thoughts and ideas that are worthy of a dialogue within our community. You can expect to see my
next blog post early in the new year. Whether through my periodic blogs or at virtual and in-person gatherings, I look forward to a thoughtful exchange of ideas that strengthen our community. After all, our
strategic plan grew from community engagement, from sharing our ideas and perspectives.
In 2024, we will build upon this groundwork. I look forward to a new year committed to the success of our students, faculty, and staff and to our mission and full of progress
toward our shared goals. I extend my heartfelt wishes for a happy, healthy, and meaningful new year to you and your family. Sincerely, S. David Wu President, Baruch College |
