Chile @ Baruch: Ninth in the College’s Annual Global Outlook Series

Chile @ Baruch: 200 Years of Trade and Investment, co-hosted by the College’s Office of Alumni Relations and Volunteer Engagement and the Weissman Center for International Business, explored economic trends across Chile and featured a keynote by Mario Ignacio Artaza, Consul General of Chile in New York; a panel discussion; and a delicious Chilean dinner. ·         Watch Chatting with the Future: Exploring the Legal and Ethical Challenges of ChatGPT and Generative AI,” an event sponsored by the Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity as part of Ethics Week 2023.

·         Facial Recognition Technology: For Good or Evil,” a recent Zicklin Talks Business Webinar, featured Assistant Professor of Law Yafit Lev-Aretz in conversation with school namesake Larry Zicklin (’57).

 

From the Amazon to Lincoln Center, Inspiring Students

·         Two weeks in Guyana’s Amazon rainforest changed the course of her life. Meet Assistant Professor of Biology Manpreet Kohli, a passionate teacher and field biologist who specializes in dragonflies.

  • Six Zicklin graduate students attended the Harvard Business Review’s centennial celebration with Assistant Professor of Management Tsedale Melaku. The inspiring event, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center, featured actress-producer Viola Davis, international human rights attorney Amal Clooney, and others.

Student gamers and entrepreneurs from throughout CUNY gathered at Baruch’s Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship last Wednesday to participate in the inaugural Venture Valley Collegiate Cup, a startup simulator challenge. First-, second-, and third-place winners took home $2,000, $1,000, and $500, respectively, with many more students winning cash prizes and scoring swag.

The Baruch College Counseling Center offers free and confidential services. Through culturally responsive and trauma-informed counseling and psychological services, the Counseling Center assists students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
