Bruce W. Weber, PhD, Named Zicklin School of Business Dean

Following a national search, Bruce W. Weber, PhD, has been named the new Willem Kooyker Dean of the Zicklin School of Business. Currently Dean and Professor of Business Administration at the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics at the University of Delaware, he will join Baruch College on July 17.

 

Ethics Week 2023

Ethics Week is underway with events through Saturday, Mar. 18, including classroom discussions and guest speakers, public workshops and presentations, and the announcement of the 2022 faculty and student winners of the Abraham J. Briloff Prizes in Ethics.

 

Celebrating Women

·         Gail Levin, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Art History, American Studies, and Women’s Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center and Baruch College, was featured on CUNY TV’s Arts in The City, where she discussed her desire to become an artist, her parents’ objections, and how she became an art historian.

  • Sports agent Jessica Holtz (MBA ’12) made history as the first woman to negotiate two NBA supermax contracts, including one for Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.
  • Breanna Reynolds (MIA ’22) discovered her passion for sustainability while studying at the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs. Today, she is part of the Tech & Innovation team at BerlinRosen.
  • With this year’s theme “Lift While You Climb,” Baruch continues its celebration of Women’s History Month. Join in-person and follow events on Instagram @baruchwhm.

 

Starr’s “Suit Up for Success” Helps Students Become Career-Ready

More than 200 Bearcats refreshed their wardrobe—at no cost—for job interviews, career fairs, internships, and networking events at Suit Up For Success, an annual program hosted by the Starr Career Development Center.

Research & Creative Inquiry Expo 2023

Undergraduates, showcase your work and knowledge beyond the classroom at Research & Creative Inquiry Expo 2023. Students in any major may submit either an individual or group project. Deadline: Tuesday, May 2.

 

Department of Journalism and the Writing Professions Essay Contest

Students who are currently taking or have taken a class in the Department of Journalism and the Writing Professions are invited to submit a personal essay—creative nonfiction of 600–800 words—on the topic “What you’ve lost and what you’ve found.” Submissions must be emailed to both [log in to unmask] and [log in to unmask] by Wednesday, Apr. 5.

Academic Momentum

To graduate on time and, in some cases, retain financial aid, most full-time students should plan to take at least 30 credits per academic year. Chart your course to on-time graduation.

 

It’s Never Too Early to File Your FAFSA

File the 2023–24 FAFSA for the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 terms. Obtain or retrieve your Federal Student Aid ID to sign electronically. Baruch’s Federal Code is 007273. The NYS TAP (NY residents only) code is 1409.

 

Support from the Counseling Center

The Baruch College Counseling Center offers free and confidential services. Through culturally responsive and trauma-informed counseling and psychological services, the Counseling Center assists students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
