December 15, 2022 Newman Vertical Campus Floor Restoration Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff, As the campus community prepares for the upcoming semester break, I wanted to provide a timely update on the ongoing terrazzo flooring replacement
project taking place in the Newman Vertical Campus (NVC). This project, which is managed by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), has progressed into an open circulation area of
the NVC. To minimize the impact of construction in this high-traffic area, DASNY intends to complete most of the work by the end of December while building use is lower. As much work as possible will take place after business hours and on weekends, and signage
will be posted as needed to alter foot-traffic circulation through the area and indicate emergency exits.
What to Expect
While it is challenging to advance this necessary work in an occupied building, Baruch’s Department of Buildings and Grounds collaborates
with DASNY to keep disruptions to a minimum. Large-scale construction such as this can have unforeseen complications; we will strive to keep the Baruch community informed as best as possible as situations evolve. Continued thanks for your understanding and patience as we repair and upgrade the NVC. Sincerely, Tom Gaimaro Director, Campus Facilities and Operations |
