Double Header: NY Times Covers Two Inspiring Baruch Stories

On Dec. 2 and 6, respectively, the New York Times ran stories that, in part, delved into the subjects’ quintessential Baruch backgrounds:

  • Some Give Money. Others Donate Something More Valuable describes Tien Hi (“Jake”) Vu, a student from Vietnam at the Zicklin School of Business, who volunteers at Encore, a center that supplies meals and services to older residents in the theater district.
  • Judge in Trump Company Trial profiles alumnus Juan M. Merchan (’90), who immigrated from Colombia at age 6 and began working odd jobs at age 9 to help support his family and, ultimately, put himself through Baruch and law school.
