Alumni Tackle Climate Change

Ideas with Impact

  • “We consume so much media on a daily basis, we can be inundated with information. How do you determine what information is real and what is not real?” asks Sabrina Kizzie, Doctoral Lecturer in Communication Studies in the Weissman School’s New Faculty Introduction video series. Hear more about why she believes students should study digital media.
  • Law Professor Nizan Geslevich Packin co-authored an article for Forbes that outlines the importance of protecting children in cyberspace and underscores missing effective protections and regulatory measures.
  • In his blog post, “Appreciate the Complexity Around Us,” President S. David Wu explores how we can overcome the very human tendency to contract our experience of the beauty and complexity of our world.

Stay Connected

“I am breaking the story while writing my own,” says Yelena Dzhanova (’19), a Baruch alumna who appeared in a graduate degree video featured on CUNY’s Instagram account.

Yelena credits her peers and her “professors-turned-mentors” as helping her forge her professional path. At Baruch, she triple-majored in journalism, English, and political science, and she served as the editor in chief of The Ticker, the College’s undergraduate student newspaper. Today, Yelena is earning a master’s degree at the CUNY Graduate Center.

Watch the full video and send your best wishes to Yelena!
