Baruch College Strategic Planning Update

Dear Baruch Community:

In early June, President S. David Wu launched<https://president.baruch.cuny.edu/to-the-baruch-community/official-launch-of-baruchs-strategic-planning-process-for-2023-28/> Baruch College's strategic planning process, which will carry through to early Summer 2023. Through this collaborative process, the College will articulate our collective vision for the future and create a "roadmap" to help guide the institution in coming years.

We have been busy this summer laying the groundwork for a successful and inclusive planning process. We announced a Strategic Planning Committee, listed on this webpage<https://strategicplanning.baruch.cuny.edu/>, that has been charged with analyzing feedback from our campus community and will work over the course of this academic year to facilitate the development of the final Strategic Plan: 2023-28. The President's Cabinet and the Strategic Planning Committee each recently convened to review and discuss qualitative findings from our strategic planning partner, Blue Beyond Consulting, as well pre-existing quantitative and qualitative data related to Baruch, including from the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), our previous strategic plan, and other data sources that pertain to the College, CUNY, and the higher education landscape.

The committee is heading the effort to develop a plan that includes input from highly diverse stakeholders across our campus and community. To that end, throughout this fall, we will host several opportunities for members of our campus to join and share their perspectives and provide input that will inform the development of our strategic plan. Current engagements include:

  * Appreciative Inquiry Summit on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22-23. Seating is limited; email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> no later than Friday, Sept. 9, if you are interested and can commit to attending both days.
  * Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 4:30 pm. An invitation with registration information will be distributed later this month.
  * An open comment form<https://strategicplanning.baruch.cuny.edu/engagement-opportunities/> is available throughout the strategic planning process so community members can submit their ideas and feedback.

Listening sessions will also be scheduled for late September and early October. You can learn more about our strategic planning process by visiting the strategic planning website<https://strategicplanning.baruch.cuny.edu/>, which also includes information about the overall timeline and progress milestones.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this important work to shape the future of Baruch together.

In appreciation,

Dr. Linda Essig
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. Kenya N. Lee
Chief of Staff
