Introducing the Black and Latino Studies Major

Baruch is proud to launch a new Black and Latino Studies (BLS) degree program at the Weissman School. The innovative major provides an interdisciplinary, 21st-century approach to race and ethnic studies and brings five new faculty members to the program.

 

Top Rankings for the College

  • Baruch earned the #3 spot among public colleges and the #14 ranking among public and private institutions on U.S. News & World Report’s just-released 2023 “Best Regional Universities-North” list.
  • Forbes named Baruch the #2 public school in New York State and #1 nationwide for lowest debt among public institutions in its top colleges rankings list.

Campaign for a Healthy Campus

To graduate on time and, in some cases, retain financial aid, most full-time students should plan to take at least 30 credits per academic year. Chart your course to on-time graduation.

  • FAFSA 2022–23: Apply for the Financial Aid You Deserve: Need federal student aid for the Fall 2022 or Spring 2023? File your 2022-23 FAFSA today! Don’t forget to obtain your Federal Student Aid ID to sign electronically. If you are a dependent, one parent will need an ID to sign as well. Baruch’s Federal Code is 007273. The NYS TAP (NY residents only) code is 1409.

 

Support from the Counseling Center

The Baruch College Counseling Center offers free and confidential services. Through culturally responsive and trauma-informed counseling and psychological services, the Counseling Center assists students in achieving their academic and personal goals.

  • Individual counseling: Please visit the Counseling Center’s website and click on the “Make an Appointment” button or email [log in to unmask]
  • Group counseling: Two sessions of Relationship to Self and Others meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1–2 pm, on Zoom. To participate in the Tuesday group, email [log in to unmask]; to participate in the Thursday group, email [log in to unmask].
  • Black Mental Health Matters Support Sessions: These sessions foster and support the growth, networking, collaboration, success, and well-being of Black students. Fridays, 2–3 pm starting tomorrow, Sept. 16, via Zoom. To participate, students should send an email to [log in to unmask] from their Baruch student email account.

 

Crisis Text Line: Connect with Counselors 24/7
