Planned Power Shutdowns: Information and Technology Building

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

As part of Baruch College’s ongoing technology upgrades, we have scheduled power shutdowns over the next two weekends in the Information and Technology Building (ITB/Newman Library building). These outages will allow us to perform critical maintenance to the system that supplies electricity to the building. The dates are as follows:

• This weekend: Saturday, July 9, from 8 pm through Sunday, July 10, at 2 am
• The following weekend: Saturday, July 16, from 8 pm through Sunday, July 17, at 2 am

In addition to the power outages, the building will be closed during these timeframes and access will not be granted to students, faculty, and staff.

What to Expect

We have planned this work to be completed during off hours in order to minimize disruptions.

ITB occupants should save work on their computers prior to these dates whether working remotely or onsite and expect that computers in the ITB will not be available during the shutdowns. These shutdowns will not affect the online library systems, and computers located in other Baruch buildings should not be affected.
