Zoom Change to CUNY Login on Wednesday, December 29

Dear Baruch Community,

BCTC has been working behind the scenes to implement a change to Zoom authentication. Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 4 pm, you will need to login to Zoom using your CUNY Login (the same as your CUNYfirst login). You will no longer be able to access Zoom with your Baruch username and password.

This change is part of an ongoing project to use CUNY Login for all CUNY-provided services and eventually simplify accounts and passwords.

Schedule and Availability

Please do not use Zoom to schedule meetings from 4 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 29, to noon on Thursday, Dec. 30. This schedule was chosen as the least disruptive—after the fall semester and before the winter session and spring semester.

Microsoft Teams may always be used for virtual meetings with your CUNY colleagues and students, and we ask that you use it during the time that Zoom is unavailable.

What to Expect

Other than the change from your Baruch username and password to CUNY Login, nothing else about your Zoom account will change. Your meetings and meeting IDs will remain intact, and any saved recordings will still be available in your account.

While we have made every effort to ensure that accounts migrate successfully, there may be a handful of accounts that experience problems. If after the migration you log into Zoom and do not see the expected account information, please reach out to the BCTC Helpdesk <mailto:[log in to unmask]> . This is most likely to occur with persons of interest (POIs) and individuals with affiliations at other CUNY colleges and schools and will need to be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Learn more about the technical aspects of the migration here <https://pmail.baruch.cuny.edu/PoliteMail/default.aspx?page=R0jQCue4OU2EITEKFqKIeg&ref_id=vylb0fMvI06CLyWQ0TndcA> .

With advanced thanks for your patience and cooperation,

Sincerely,

Michael Richichi

Assistant Vice President of Information Technology and Deputy CIO
