Welcome, Bearcats! Celebrating Fall 2021

Baruch College’s campus is once again buzzing with activity! While many returning students reunited with friends, other students stepped onto campus for the first time. Baruch faculty and staff volunteered their time for Days of Welcome on the Clivner=Field Plaza for students. They were joined by CUNY Chancellor Félix Matos Rodríguez, Baruch President S. David Wu, USG President Alison Lee, and members of the undergraduate student government to engage with Baruch students and celebrate our community.

Baruch Forward: Stay Informed and Safe

Even as the fall semester gets underway, the situation still remains fluid and guidance is subject to change. For real-time updates, please visit Baruch Forward <https://pmail.baruch.cuny.edu/PoliteMail/default.aspx?page=1XVorytNDUqRppZT2gpsGQ&ref_id=3T2wA2gtOUKHB455aZnuNw> and CUNY’s Student FAQ hub <https://pmail.baruch.cuny.edu/PoliteMail/default.aspx?page=9Z3EFdoitk-bQeGR40IgTg&ref_id=3T2wA2gtOUKHB455aZnuNw> for guidance on the Student Vaccination Mandate, Vaccination Verification, and Applying for Exceptions, Medical Exemptions, and Special Circumstances. A few key developments include:

* On Friday, CUNY Chancellor Matos Rodríguez revised the student vaccination policy <https://pmail.baruch.cuny.edu/PoliteMail/default.aspx?page=_7bd9qgDRE6KCwUTPSh9Pg&ref_id=3T2wA2gtOUKHB455aZnuNw> to require that all students—including those taking remote-only classes—be vaccinated to come to campus

* Important deadlines: Thursday, Sept. 23 is the last day students can receive the second dose of the two-shot vaccines or the single-dose J&J Covid-19 vaccine. Monday, Sept. 27 is the deadline for students to upload proof of full vaccination into CUNYfirst. Failure to meet the deadlines will subject students to potential academic withdrawal that could also impact financial aid and course refunds.

* Quiet study spaces are available across campus so you can keep up on your work and take online classes. Learn more here <https://pmail.baruch.cuny.edu/PoliteMail/default.aspx?page=V-N8nFJsJEmH3UMd4UNPhA&ref_id=3T2wA2gtOUKHB455aZnuNw> .

* No classes are scheduled Wednesday, Sept. 15, and Thursday, Sept. 16. Visit the 2021-22 academic calendar <https://pmail.baruch.cuny.edu/PoliteMail/default.aspx?page=fa72fZ6hRUy7Yea4Aqf2pA&ref_id=3T2wA2gtOUKHB455aZnuNw> for holiday closures, class scheduling, and more.

Recognitions and Updates

* President Wu was named to City & State’s Power of Diversity: Asian 100 List <https://pmail.baruch.cuny.edu/PoliteMail/default.aspx?page=oF2W_Px5NUuG0z6TmFAOGw&ref_id=3T2wA2gtOUKHB455aZnuNw> for the second straight year and recognized as one of New York’s most influential leaders.
