The following message is being sent on behalf of our colleague Charles Vorosmarty at City College.

----------------------------------------------------------

Dear CIDR colleagues---

A good friend and colleague of mine, Jerry Melillo from the Marine Biological Lab in Woods Hole, will be giving a special seminar next week associated with the Advanced Science and Research Center. He will be discussing the development of state-of-the-art environmental analysis systems and their application within the highest levels of the policy arena. Just this past week I understand he was briefing John Holdren and Jane Lubchenko on a variety of carbon-climate-energy-development related issues. I see that his interests and connections to be of potential interest and value to members of CIDR.

I have known Jerry for more than 30 years and continue to find his talks informative and --in the words of many of my colleagues-- "inspiring". I hope you will be able to attend and certainly feel free to share the announcement of his seminar with your colleagues and students. I'm sure that you won't be disappointed.

Thanks,

Charlie V.

PS. For those who can make it, there is a registration step to these seminars: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CASS_Melillo
