The New York Census Research Data Center (NYCRDC) will hold a workshop on conducting research at the NYCRDC on Thursday, April 2nd from 1:00pm-2:30pm. The workshop will be held at Baruch College, 135 E. 22nd Street, in room 301. The workshop is free and open to the public, but registration is required. The NYCRDC provides researchers with the opportunity to conduct approved projects that use restricted-access microdata collected by the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Center for Health Statistics, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality at physically secure facilities at Baruch College and at Cornell University. Membership in the NYCRDC Consortium covers access fees for faculty members, graduate students, and researchers affiliated with member institutions. The workshop will:
• Provide examples of the types of questions that can be addressed using RDC data, • Describe the restricted-access demographic, economic, and health data available through the NYCRDC, • Focus particular attention on the restricted-access data available from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), • Explain the process of applying to use the NYCRDC.

The workshop will be conducted by Negasi Beyene, Statistician at the NCHS Research Data Center, Shirley Liu, Administrator of the NYCRDC-Baruch ([log in to unmask]) and Diane Gibson, Executive Director of the NYCRDC-Baruch ([log in to unmask]).
