We are pleased to invite you to the CUNY School of Public Health's forum - Immigration & Health: Intersectoral Approaches for Advancing Health Equity - to be held Wednesday, June 3rd, from 9am to 1pm at the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue at 34th Street.

We look forward to hosting a diverse group of participants at this event, including immigrant rights advocates, policy makers, and public health professionals, and hope you will join us to make it a success.
Confirmed speakers include Dr. Shiriki Kumanyika, President of the American Public Health Association, Nisha Agarwal, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, Shena Elrington, Director of Immigrant Rights and Social Justice of the Center for Popular Democracy, Monica Sibri, President of the CUNY DREAMers, and Dr. Oxiris Barbot, First Deputy Commissioner of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

In addition to hearing from the speakers, we invite forum participants to join small group sessions to begin the development of action plans in specific areas, bringing together multiple constituencies to focus on five areas related to immigration and health: mental health, food access, occupational health, quality healthcare, and sexual and reproductive health. As you register for the forum, please select two group sessions you would like to join. We'll do our best to place you in one of these two sessions.

This forum is co-sponsored by the New York Immigration Coalition, the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. It is the third in a series of intersectoral forums that the CUNY School of Public Health and its partners to improve health and equity in New York City through open dialogues with the constituencies that can make New York City a healthier and more equitable city.
