Dear Colleagues,

Welcome back to a new academic year. We will be continuing our practice of sponsoring not only seminars held jointly with the Health Economics group at the Graduate Center, but more informal workshops, too. These workshops are meant to allow a researcher to present work that one might say is not fully developed yet or even, in the extreme, to present a review of some area of demography in which she or he wishes to work, but hasn’t yet found a niche to fill. So, for the workshop, to put it in the negative, we do not want speakers to present research that is already a “done deal,” with little room for further input.

We will be meeting the first Monday of every month, from 11:00am to Noon, with a couple of exceptions, and are looking for folks to fill up the slots. Lunch will be provided immediately after the workshop. Please let Diana Claire know when and what you’d like to present.

Here are the dates:

October 4

November 1

December 6

February 7

March 7 – perhaps for practice PAA talks

March 21 – reserved for practice PAA talks

April 4

May 2

June 6

Thanks, everyone.

All the best,
Neil
