IASC Foundation Constitution Committee

The Constitution Committee, chaired by Paul Volcker, will be holding the first of its
series of public hearings on 3 June regarding the IASC Foundation’s Constitution.
The Constitution sets out the operating procedures of the IASC Foundation and the
International Accounting Standards Board, the organisation’s standard-setting body.
The existing Constitution requires five-yearly reviews.

The Constitution Committee has identified ten main issues for consideration.  Whilst
the Committee has yet to reach conclusions, it has begun to develop approaches on
those issues.  These public hearings are the first of several opportunities for the
public to comment on the preliminary approaches suggested.  Information regarding
the preliminary approaches can be found on the IASC Foundation’s Website,
www.iascfoundation.org.
