Re: Associate Dean of Continuing and Professional Studies

I am pleased to announce that Ann Clarkson will join Baruch College as
Associate Dean of Continuing and Professional Studies. Her tenure with
the College begins on August 18.

Clarkson brings a wealth of relevant experience to the College in senior
management operations. She comes to us from New York University, where,
since 2000, she served as divisional director of academic operations for
eight academic areas in non-credit, undergraduate and graduate programs
for both traditional and online divisions. The program areas included
instructional design, information technology, advanced digital arts and
applications, film and graphic design as well as those offered through
NYU's online non-credit and degree programs. From 2000 to 2003, she was
the program director of The Center for Instructional Design and program
director of The Virtual College.

From 1997 until 2000, Clarkson was assistant vice president-new media
development for the Securities Training Corporation, where she developed
their online university and computer- based programs for financial
certification and test prep training. She began her career as a faculty
member in Teaching English as A Foreign Language (TEFL), and in
publishing for Simon & Schuster in the secondary education division.
Clarkson has an undergraduate degree from William Smith College and a
master's degree in instructional design from Teacher's College, Columbia
University.

Ann Clarkson's strong leadership, communication, instructional design
and academic operation skills will enable her to make considerable
contributions to the strategic plan of our Continuing and Professional
Studies program at Baruch.
