Judge Allen G. Schwartz will speak on ‘The Businessman in the Courtroom’, on
Monday, March 18, 2002 at 2:30 P.M. in the 7th floor Conference Room of the
Newman Library building.

Judge Allen G. Schwartz (Baruch ’55, law degree U. of Penn Law School) was
appointed United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York on
January 12, 1994. Judge Schwartz served as Corporation Counsel of New York
City from January 1, 1978 to December 31, 1981, the first four years of the Koch
Administration. In that position, he headed the second largest public law office in
the United States (second only to the US Justice Department). Nearly all of Judge
Schwartz’ professional life has been in the practice of state and federal litigation,
both commercial and criminal. Most recently, he was a partner in the firm of
Proskauer & Rose.

Please join us as Judge Schwartz addresses how the law reflects ethical
considerations, and how business practices influence changes in the law. With all
of his experience, this promises to be a stimulating and thought-provoking
presentation.

This talk is sponsored by the Charles Dreifus Ethics-Across-the-Curriculum
Initiative.

We look forward to seeing you there.
