Professor Holowczack Named New Director of Subotnick Center

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Richard Holowczak from the
Computer Information Systems Department as the Director of the Subotnick
Financial Services Center at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, CUNY.

Professor Holowczak joined the Zicklin faculty in 1997 and began working with
colleagues in 1998 to develop the groundwork for what would eventually become
the Subotnick Financial Services Center and the Bert W. and Sandra Wasserman
Trading Floor. He has remained active at the Center since its opening in 1999,
participating in technology deployment and course development, and as a member
of the SFSC advisory board.

Today the Center supports a wide range of activities including course sessions in
over 10 academic disciplines, professional events such as the NY Board of Trade
simulated trading session and the annual Global Equity Markets Seminar, and an
increasing number of hands-on workshops that are open to all Baruch students.

While the primary focus of the Center remains to academically serve the students of
the Zicklin School, Professor Holowczak is also committed to strengthening the
support of the Center for academic research and to bring the unique skills afforded
our students to the attention of faculty, alumni and prospective employers.

We are pleased that Professor Holowczak has accepted this position and are
looking forward to sharing in his energy and vision for the Subotnick Center. Please
join with me in providing your support.

---John Elliott, Vice President and Dean of the Zicklin School of Business
