REMINDER -- NEW PHONE SYSTEM FOR SOUTH CAMPUS

During the week of Sept. 19-23, the Baruch College south campus--17 Lex and
135 and 137 E. 22nd St.--will be getting a new telephone system. A unified
telecommunications system will provide intra-campus four-digit dialing and
transfer of voice-mail messages between all campus sites, among other
enhanced features. Once this transition is made, the entire campus will be
part of the (646) area code.

The cutover will begin on Monday morning Sept. 19 and will continue
throughout the week. Everyone with an "802" telephone number has been
assigned a new number within the (646) area code. Those affected who don't
already know their new number should check with their departmental
telephone coordinator
<http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/bctc/phone/switch.htm#coordinator>.

The Telephone Services <http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/bctc/phone/index.htm>
site includes FAQs <http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/bctc/phone/switch.htm>
about the new phone system, as well as a cutover schedule
<http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/bctc/phone/switchschedule.htm>, which will be
updated as departmental cutovers are completed. During the course of the
week, existing numbers in the Baruch electronic directory
<http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/directory/> will be updated.

If you are part of the north campus, you will not be directly affected;
however, please consult the Baruch electronic directory
<http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/directory/> and note the new phone numbers of
your colleagues who are just now making the transition.

Please note that having a new phone number will, in most cases,
necessitate updating your stationery, such as letterheads and business
cards.
