Dear Baruch Colleague:
Each member of the Baruch faculty or staff should have received a
copy of the CollegeÕs complete Fire Safety Instructions; if you would
like another copy, please feel free to contact the Office of Public Safety
at (212) 802-3000.
It is important to review periodically our most basic procedures:
All alarms will be considered indicative of a fire, unless otherwise
determined. Never assume that an alarm is a false report.
At the sound of an alarm, proceed to the nearest Fire Exit in an orderly
manner.
Stand by the Fire Exit and do not enter the stairwells.
Follow the directions of Fire Safety personnel.
Do not use elevators.
During an alarm, faculty members conducting class will be
responsible for directing their students to the nearest Fire Exit. Faculty
members should make themselves aware of the fire exits nearest to
their classrooms.
Do not return to an area until Public Safety personnel give an Òall
clear.Ó
If you discover fire or a smoke condition:
Pull nearest alarm Ð pull boxes are bright red and are located
adjacent to fire exit stairs or elevator bank.
Call New York Fire Department: 9-628-2900 OR 9-911.
Call Baruch Public Safety Emergency Number 3333.
Be prepared to report the following:
Condition (fire, smoke, etc.)
Specific location (building address, floor, and area on floor or room
number)
Your name and location.
If you have any questions, regarding fire safety procedures, do not
hesitate to contact the Office of Public Safety (212) 802-3000.

Vice President for Administration and Finance
