Subject:Managerial and Professional Development Course Schedule and Curriculum

Enclosed is The Citywide Training Center's (CTC) Spring 2005 Open Enrollment
Schedule (March through June) for Managerial and Professional Development
courses. Included for your review is a detailed outline of courses offered
for employees who work in managerial, professional, and/or administrative
positions.

For our Procurement staff, there are also seminars offered by the
Procurement Training Institute (PTI). The Universal Public Purchasing
Certification Council and the Institute for Supply Management (ISM)
recognize these programs as an approved source of the continuing
professional education required for procurement re-certification. General
Procurement Courses with a City Specific Focus, ISM Satellite Seminars, and
NIGP (National Institute of Government Purchasing), LEAP (Learning and
Education to Advance Procurement) Courses/Exams Leading to Certification are
featured in the Spring 2005 Schedule. These courses have been updated to
reflect current New York City Purchasing policies, procedures, and forms.
Also, CUNY's Graduate Center will be offering Procurement Programs; starting
with a professional certification that leads to an Executive Certificate in
Public Procurement (refer to HTTP://WEB.GC.CUNY.EDU/CEPP for additional
information).

Courses are offered on an open enrollment basis, therefore, the dates listed
in the schedule are tentative. The actual dates of the courses will be
announced at a later time. A class may be arranged specifically for your
department if 9 - 12 of your staff apply for the class.

The training programs are very reasonably priced. The price range for each
program varies, and each price is per trainee for each day of training. You
would, however, have to find money in your department budget to fund the
training for your staff. Checks should be made payable to the DCAS/Citywide
Training Center, and marked as payment for the Citywide Managerial and
Professional Development Training Program. All classes are held at the DCAS
Citywide Training Center, 2 Washington Street, 21st Floor, New York, NY -
unless otherwise indicated.

If a participant has registered for a Managerial and Professional
Development training course, but is unable to attend, it is imperative that
they contact David Boxill in Human Resources at least 10 days prior to the
actual date of the course. Failure to comply will result in the
participant’s department being billed for the course even if they did not
attend the training course.

Catalogs and application forms for these training programs are enclosed with
this memo (see links below). Interested employees must complete an
application, obtain supervisor's signature of approval, and forward the
COMPLETED application to: Human Resources, Attn: David Boxill. Applications
and payment must be received as soon as possible in order to reserve your
seat. Human Resources will forward applications and payment for each
participant to University Training. DCAS will inform University Training of
Specific class dates, our office (Human Resources) will then forward this
information to registered employees.

Please direct your inquiries to David Boxill, Assistant Director of Human
Resources, via 212-802-2740.
