PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS
(Do NOT Use "Reply"; Inquiries Should Be Addressed to Parties Indicated in Each
Announcement!)

From: David Dannenbring, Provost
To: The Baruch College Community

I am very pleased announce the appointment of Dr. John Choonoo as Director of
Institutional Research and Program Assessment. In an environment that
increasingly calls for assessment, analysis and accountability, we are fortunate to
have John in this important position.

John joined Baruch's Office of Institutional Research and Program Assessment in
2001 after working as a research analyst for the New York City Board of Education.
He has extensive experience in outcomes assessment, but at Baruch he has built a
much broader portfolio. In recent months he has been coordinating Baruch's
participation in national surveys and rankings, has been working on ways to
strengthen the College's data collection and systems, and has been overseeing the
development of a data warehouse - all while addressing a wide range of research
and assessment issues. I encourage you to look at the office's website, http://
www.baruch.cuny.edu/ir/

Please join with me and wish John much success.

Softball Anyone?

Members of the college faculty, staff, and administration
are invited to signal their interest in playing (co-ed) softball
this spring by sending an email by the end of January
to [log in to unmask]

Individuals willing to help organize are welcome to say so.
We will use this informal survey to determine whether we
have enough interest to support several teams within the
Baruch Community (e.g. a Weissman team, an administration
team), enough for a single team that could play another
college, or just a group that will bat around a few balls and
have a picnic.
