TO: Members of the Baruch Community
FROM: Kathleen Waldron, President
I have just returned from Albany, where I met with our elected officials about the
shortfall in operating funds, which prevents us from realizing the goals we have set
for ourselves, as well as proposed changes in financial aid (TAP), and a potential
tuition increase. These are serious issues that affect us all, and they warrant our
immediate attention.
I urge you to let our state legislators know where you stand on the budget issues that
face the University. CUNY has established a website that will enable you quickly
and easily to locate the email address of your state senator and assembly member,
to review sample letters about student aid and other important budget issues, and to
send a personal message to your elected representatives and legislative leaders.
Please visit http://www.SupportCUNY.org and take action today. Tell our legislators
that we need an operating budget that works and that our students cannot bear any
reduction in financial aid.
Many thanks.
President Kathleen Waldron
