Convocation and the annual induction of the Freshman Class takes place this
Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in Mason Hall at 17 Lexington Avenue.

Following the Convocation are discussion groups meeting to talk about this year's
freshman text, "Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America by Barbara
Ehrenreich.

A schedule of receptions and evening activities follows.

Speakers at the Convocation include USG President Sime Marnika, Provost David
Dannenbring, President Kathleen Waldron, and Lewis Lapham, editor of Harper's
Magazine, which commissioned the reporting that Ehrenreich ultimately developed
into her bestselling book.
