This notice is VERY important for users of electronic calendars.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 mandates that Daylight Saving Time (DST) begin
three weeks earlier in 2007 and extend one week later. Software vendors are
releasing updates and patches to ensure that processes that rely on time
stamping, date/time calculations and calendars will not be disrupted by this
change in schedule. The BCTC and the school technology coordinators are
working to implement the strategies provided by each vendor.

If you currently use any type of electronic calendar, whether it is a Baruch
service such as the calendar in Lotus Notes or another personal electronic
calendar, it is important that we work with you on a one-to-one basis to
prepare for the start of DST. To accomplish this, we ask that you click on
the link below and complete a form providing us with your contact information.

Although the press is comparing the DST change to Y2K, the implications are
not nearly as critical. Our systems will continue to operate. The
worst-case scenario for people who have not prepared is that their calendars
will not work properly when DST begins on March 11. If you are a calendar
user, please complete the form ASAP.

Thank you,

Arthur Downing
Assistant Vice President for Information Technology
