To: Dais Members (Faculty and Platform Party)
 2005 Commencement/Investiture Exercise.

From: David Gaudette
 President’s Office

On behalf of the President and this year’s graduates, thank you for electing to participate in
the Fortieth Commencement and Investiture Exercises, Wednesday, June 1, 2005. As you may
know, we are celebrating this year with one ceremony for both undergraduates and graduates
in the Arena at Madison Square Garden. The time of the event is 11:00 AM beginning with
the graduate candidates’ processional.

Please plan to arrive between 11:00 and 11:15. Earlier arrivals may take advantage of the
continental breakfast being served in the robing area between 10:15 and 11:00. The dais
processional should begin at approximately 11:30.

Please enter at the green canopied entrance on West 33rd Street between 7th and 8th (close
to 7th Avenue and across from K-Mart on 33rd). Madison Square Garden security may not
admit individuals without a valid picture ID (your Baruch Identification Card would be the
best).

Robing for the Commencement Exercises will take place on the Club Mezzanine at the
Theater at Madison Square Garden. If you ordered rented regalia from Student Life and did
not pick them up prior to June 1st, the caps and gowns will be available on the mezzanine
level of MSG where robing will take place. If you own regalia, hopefully this communiqué will
serve as a reminder to bring your cap and gown with you that morning. Marshals will be
available to direct you to the appropriate robing areas.

It would be a pleasure if you would join us immediately after the ceremony for a buffet
luncheon and refreshments in the Club Restaurant. Please note that there are in excess of
400 people who attend the luncheon, the Club Restaurant holds approximately 200 and for
that reason buffet and dining areas must also be setup on the Mezzanine outside of the
restaurant. Join us for a drink in the Bar in the Club Restaurant, all are welcome.

Please call if you have any questions or need additional information.
