among others, the keynote speaker will be Dr. Allen Renear, Graduate School
of Library and Information Science, University of Illinois. Lunch is
served at 11:30. Publisher and vendor presentations go from 12:30 to 1:00.
Break out sessions on a myriad of special topics fill the afternoon.

Correct Passover Dates…

Second, an important CORRECTION on Passover: Our previous e-mail (note the
editorial “we” once a mistake has to be acknowledged) reminded faculty of
upcoming religious holidays, during which many students can be expected to
miss class. In that reminder, “we” provided the wrong dates for the
closing days of Passover. Prof. Michael Palley of CIS, along with several
other alert correspondents, have set the record straight. Writes
Palley: “The closing days of Passover are April 3 and 4 (not 4 and 5, as
per the announcement). Furthermore,” Prof. Palley adds, “students
observing the holiday will not be in attendance at the start of the
festival, which corresponds to Tuesday evening, April 2.” Thanks to all who
caught this error. We regret that we don’t know who, on this large team of
communications professionals who labor through the week to bring you these
announcements, might have made the mistake….
