2. FACULTY DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS ON
TENURE AND PROMOTION
for NEW and JUNIOR FACULTY

Vertical Campus
One Bernard Baruch Way (55 Lexington Avenue)
14th Floor - Room 14-270
Friday, March 14th, 2003

The Baruch College Affirmative Action Committee will sponsor seminars for faculty
on tenure and promotion. The underlying principle of the seminars is for
experienced faculty to share their knowledge, experience and expertise, and bring
that knowledge, experience and expertise to the issues at hand. Faculty organize
and lead most of the sessions. The seminars are directed not at specific disciplinary
topics but at the common issues facing all faculty as they navigate through the
tenure and promotion process. Although the seminars have been designed for new
and junior faculty, all faculty are cordially invited to attend.

This year, the Baruch College Affirmative Action Committee will offer the seminars
listed below. If you are planning to attend any of the sessions, please call the
Affirmative Action office at 212-802-2865, or contact us by e-mail
([log in to unmask], and let us know which sessions you'd like to
attend. If you have questions, please call Carmen Pedrogo, Affirmative Action
Officer, at the above number.

Nonprofit Group Alliance with NY Cares

The Nonprofit Group at Baruch has forged an alliance with the New York Cares
volunteer organization. Our goal is to encourage community involvement among
our student body.

This is a great way to demonstrate your concern for others and learn more about the
many Service Organizations in our city. Just invest one hour of your time to see if
New York Cares is for you.

New York Cares Comes to You! Come join us for a Volunteer
Orientation--Save the Date for April 3rd at 1:00pm. This one hour orientation will take
place in Room 14-285 of the Vertical Campus.

Since 1987, New York Cares has been our city’s premier volunteering organization.
We create opportunities for tens of thousands of busy New Yorkers to give their time
each year through fulfilling, flexibly-scheduled volunteer projects. New York Cares
responds to our City’s most acute needs by reaching out to social service agencies,
schools, homeless shelters, and other deserving organizations, and mobilizing
teams of volunteers to help with their work. Day in and day out, our volunteers take
homeless kids to the library, feed the hungry, visit the ill and the elderly, clean up
school buildings and parks, tutor public school students, provide coats to those who
would go without, and do so much more.
