Dear Faculty,

Friday, May 12, 2006 is "College for a Day" at Baruch. Undergraduate
Admissions will be welcoming to campus approximately 100 students from The
Manhattan International High School and from parochial high schools
throughout New York City. Both of these populations represent an
under-recruited resource for us.

The goal of "College for a Day" is to give the participating high school
students an idea of what the day of a Baruch College student is like,
which includes taking classes. We plan to offer classes at 9:45 a.m. and
10:45 a.m. In order to limit class sizes to 20 students each, we need a
total of ten professors to volunteer: Five for the 9:45 a.m. classes, and
five for the 10:45 a.m. classes. These would be shortened versions of an
introductory, freshman-level class that you might normally teach. The
classes will be taught in standard smart rooms on the 4th floor of the
Vertical Campus.

"College for a Day" has always been successful thanks to faculty members
who volunteer their time and talent to teach a class and lend a hand with
our recruitment effort.

I hope you can help us to expose prospective students to Baruch's
classroom experience on Friday, May 12. Please contact David Keller at
646-312-1367 or [log in to unmask] if you are able to volunteer.

Best regards,

Jim Murphy
