----------------------------Original message----------------------------
The College has assigned an e-mail account to each currently enrolled
student as an official means of communication regarding academic and
administrative matters. Students are responsible for all information sent
to them via this "Baruch Webmail" account and are expected to check it
frequently.
The Webmail address consists of the initials of a student's first and last

Beginning September 3 students can obtain their new e-mail address by
visiting www.baruch.cuny.edu/email/student.html.
Each student's Webmail address has been entered into SIMS and Blackboard
and may not be changed. Students may choose to read the messages sent to
their Baruch Webmail account using a third-party e-mail service, such as
Hotmail, at their own risk. They are still responsible for all the
information, including the attachments, sent to the Baruch Webmail account.
The assignment of official Webmail accounts will enable the College to send
important announcements to students with greater reliability. We will also
be able to send messages to targeted segments of the student population.
The BCTC will soon offer workshops on how to use Webmail for students.
Assistance will also be provided through the BCTC help desk at
646-312-1010.
We are announcing the change of e-mail systems through print and electronic
notices. Please help with spreading the word by sharing this news in your
classes.
Thank you for your assistance.
