Re: Emergency Procedures Handbook

Do you know what to do in an emergency? Do you know what is expected of you in
the event of a fire, power outage or medical emergency? Now there is a
comprehensive resource to assist you.

Baruch’s Emergency Management Team has produced a comprehensive
Emergency Procedures Handbook to help prepare faculty and staff for what we
should do in cases of medical emergencies, imminent crimes, and such general
emergencies as might be presented by fire and smoke conditions, severe weather,
and power outages. General evacuation procedures are also covered.

This information is available for review on the web and can be downloaded in
printable format by clicking on the PowerPoint file attachment (or, if you don't have
PowerPoint on your machine, on the plain "Printable Format" link) online at the
following URL address:

http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/emergencyprocedures/

It is vitally important that all faculty and staff members familiarize themselves with the
material (it's all on the website) and then print it for ready desktop reference.

This information might seem of distant interest during your busy days working with
students and colleagues in the mission of the College. But it will prove invaluable
and possibly life-saving should a moment arise when it is needed quickly.

Please print a copy, bind or staple it, and keep it at your desk. Make sure that you
are familiar with the actions that you should take in case of an emergency. Please
do it today, for yourself and for the safety of our community!
