The Verizon circuit that supports the Octel voice mail system and
directs message delivery to the proper voice mailbox is down. This
circuit links voice mailboxes and user names with the proper extensions
and powers the message waiting indicator to alert users that a message
is in the mailbox. A trouble-ticket was established with Verizon
yesterday afternoon and we are waiting for problem diagnosis and repair.

Here are some options you may try while the link is down:

To Leave A Message for Someone With an "802" Number Who Is Not At Their
Desk or On The Phone

After a few rings, you will hear the message "Welcome to Octel voice
information processing. If you are using a touch tone phone, please
enter the number of the person you are calling. If you have a mailbox
on this system, please press pound." Enter the phone number or
extension of the person to receive the message for connection to their
voice mailbox.

To Retrieve Messages

Call voice mail (2500). After a few rings, you will hear the message
"Welcome to Octel voice information processing. If you are using a
touch tone phone, please enter the number of the person you are calling.
If you have a mailbox on this system, please press pound." Enter your
mailbox number and password.

NOTE: Because the link is down, you will not receive a message waiting
indication that you have a message. You should check for messages
periodically.

I am not recommending these options, but provide them only as an
alternative until the voice mail link has been repaired and can provide
us with the required system integration.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 646-312-1040.
