RE: Sexual Harassment Policy

DATE: February 9, 2006

On November 29, 2004, the Board of Trustees of The City University of New
York adopted the University's "Revised Policy Against Sexual Harassment
and the Revised Procedures for Implementation of the Policy Against Sexual
Harassment." It is important that this policy be periodically reviewed by
the College community. I call your attention to Section G (Procedures) of
the Policy which states that: "…each dean, director, department
chairperson, executive officer, administrator, or other person with
supervisory responsibility shall be required to report any complaint of
sexual harassment to the individual or individuals designated in the
procedures. All members of the University community are required to
cooperate in any investigation of a sexual harassment complaint." The
complete policy can be found on Baruch's Web site at
<http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/human_resources/#Policy>

In compliance with the policy, a Sexual Harassment Coordinator and Deputy
Coordinator have been appointed. The coordinators are responsible for
investigating complaints and reporting their findings to the College
president for disposition. In addition, a Sexual Harassment Intake
Committee has been established to receive any complaints of sexual
harassment from faculty, staff, and students. Listed below are the names,
departments, and telephone numbers for each member of the Sexual
Harassment Intake Committee.

* Carmen Pedrogo, Affirmative Action Officer, Committee Coordinator,
  (646) 312-4542
* Michael Plekon, Professor, Sociology and Anthropology, Deputy Coordinator,
  (646) 312-4472
* Michele Epstein, BCTC, (646) 312-1040
* Frank Antonucci, Campus Facilities/Operations, (646) 660-6037
* Angelina Delgado, School of Public Affairs, (646) 660-6827
* Gayle DeLong, Economics and Finance, (646) 312-3493
* David Garlock, Purchasing/Auxiliary Services, (646) 660-6154
* Nita Lutwak, Psychology, (646) 312-3821
* Penelope Terry, Undergraduate Admissions, (646) 312-1375

In addition to receiving complaints of sexual harassment, the Committee
will also be responsible for continuing to educate the College community
about sexual harassment through workshop presentations and printed
materials.
