Memo to: Baruch College Faculty
From: Ned Regan
As you know, the spring meeting of the General Faculty will take place on Tuesday,
April 15, 2003, at 12:45 p.m. in Room 3-150 of the Vertical Campus. Because of the
timing of spring break and a few other events, there was difficulty in scheduling this
semester’s meeting. When the date was picked many months ago, it unfortunately
escaped our notice that the College would be following a Wednesday class
schedule that day; I apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
I am looking forward to discussing many substantive issues with you, including the
state budget and impending tuition increase as well as the College’s response to the
current fiscal climate. Several important task forces have been created on campus to
deal with issues such as student aid, our entrepreneurial activities, productivity
savings, and others; I am looking forward to briefing you on their work and hearing
your thoughts.
Next week, you shall receive via email the agenda for the meeting. In lieu of
distributing large packets of reports to each faculty member, the minutes of the fall
meeting and the reports of college officers and standing committees will be available
online. One hard copy of the materials will be distributed to each department for
those who may not have electronic access to the information.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the General Faculty meeting.
