Dr. Benjamin Chavis, president and CEO of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, will
discuss the Rockefeller drug laws on Thursday, April 22, from 1 to 2 pm, in the
Multipurpose Room, First Floor Vertical Campus.

Mr. Chavis has been a civil rights leader since his days as North Carolina youth
coordinator for Dr. King. Dr. Chavis organized the Million Man March and the Million
Family March. He coined the term "environmental racism" and conducted a
landmark study that documented its effects.

Following the New York Hip-Hop Summit, which he organized in 2001, he joined
with music producer and entrepreneur Russell Simmons to create the Hip-Hop
Summit Action Network.

Dr. Chavis's luncheon talk is cosponsored by Hip-Hop 201 and USG.
