Women's Policy Breakfast
The New York City Council Women's Issues Committee, the New York City
Council Women's Caucus and the School of Public Affairs sponsored a Women's
Policy Breakfast last month.  New York City Council Speaker Gifford Miller
was the keynote speaker and addressed important issues affecting women
including: domestic violence, children and education, health and economic
opportunities for women.

The School of Public Affairs and the New York League of Conservation Voters
hosted on policy forum titled: "Re-route? Recycle? Re-budget? Managing NYC's
Waste."  The panelists included:  John Doherty, Commissioner, NYC Department
of Sanitation; Robert Lange, Director, Bureau of Waste Prevention, Reuse and
Recycling; Councilmember Michael McMahon, NYC Council, Chair, Sanitation &
Solid Waste Management Committee; Benjamin Miller, former DOS Director of
Policy Planning and author; and Ruth Ford, Contributing Editor, Habitat
Magazine.
