1. Please be advised that the Mitel technician will be here on Tuesday,
April 2, 2002 to make a correction to the voice mail system.  This
repair should correct the system problem that College users have
been experiencing – voice mail messages delivered in an untimely
manner, light flashing without messages, messages without light
flashing, etc.  Other attempts to correct the problem have failed,
however, this problem was escalated to a senior division and
hopefully this will do the trick.  You may experience some disruption in
service from 7:00 a.m. –8:00 a.m. while the tech is working on the
switch.  You will not lose any messages that are currently stored in
your mailboxes.

This only effects users of the Mitel system (“646-312-xxxx”).

3. The Dean Esther Liebert Service Awards Reception honoring
Baruch College faculty and staff for 25/35 years of service to the
College and the City University will be held on April 25, 2002 in the
Conference Center (151 East 25th Street 7th Floor) from 4:30pm to
6:30pm.

4. The 11th Annual Spring Speech Festival will be held April 18th,
2002, at 12:30P.M., in the 7th Floor Conference Room of the Newman
Library Building on 25th Street.

The theme of this year's festival is, "The Media and Crisis Situations:
Profit or Social Responsibility?"  The keynote speaker will be Mr. Alan
Wurtzel, President of Broadcast Standards and Practices at NBC.

Lunch will be served.

5. The Baruch College "JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge"
running team is shaping up well.  The College will be fielding a team
of runners for the 3.5 mile race in Central Park on May 15th and June
26th.  If you are interested in walking or running the race you need to
contact Dave Gallagher at 212/802-2908 or by email david_gallagher
@baruch.cuny.edu.  Deadline for joining the team for the May 15th
race is April 12th. The application fee of $20 includes a Baruch
College Team T-Shirt, a JP Morgan Chase T-shirt, and your race fee.
Please stop by Dave Gallagher’s  office (135 East 22nd Street -- 9th
Floor) to fill out the application form and pay your fee (Checks payable
to The Baruch College Fund).

You may run one of both races, and if you do not want to run, all
members of the Baruch College family are encouraged to come out
and support the team in the Park.
