Former president of Baruch College Joel Segall passed away on Thursday, October
9, 2003. The following is an obituary announcement that will appear in the New
York TImes tomorrow. In addition, please check the Baruch College homepage for a
fuller obituary which will be posted sometime during the morning of October 15.
"The Baruch College community mourns the loss of Baruch's former President Joel
Segall. President Segall served the College as its tireless champion, developing a
master plan for the outstanding Library and Techonology Center and the
breathtaking new Vertical Campus, and attracting outstanding faculty, particularly to
his beloved Zicklin School of Business. Tens of thousands of Baruch students have
since enjoyed the fruits of those achievements. We extend our sympathy and
condolences to his wife, Joan, and to the entire Segall family.
Ned Regan, President of Baruch College,
Dov Schlein, President of the Baruch College Fund"
