Just a quick thank you to the Baruch College community for supporting the CUNY
Campaign so generously this year. The campaign raised more than $30,000 for
scores of agencies, including the American Red Cross, the Vietnam Veterans
Foundation, the Child Abuse Prevention Program, NAACP Legal Defense and
Educational Fund, Thirteen/WNET, and the World Wildlife Fund. Many also
contributed to the Baruch College Fund.

The lion’s share of credit for the success of this year’s campaign belongs to its
enthusiastic captains who worked hard to raise the visibility of the campaign. This
year’s campaign captains were Elizabeth Albert, Miriam Allen, Frank Antonucci,
Sandra Benavides, Shirley Bishop, Clemens Chu, Bess Contaratos, Gayle DeLong,
Dan Kaufmann, Joyce Marotta, Roweena Naidoo, Gina Parmar, Lynn Salmon, Eleni
Sfiroudis, Dennis Slavin, and Laura Zic.

Thanks to their efforts, the number of employees giving to the campaign increased
from 75 last year to 120 this year.

The campaign was also generously supported by the College Bookstore,
Metropolitan Food Service, Jimmy’s Chinese House, and the Athletics and
Recreation Complex, all of which donated prizes to the campaign raffle. The
winners of this year’s raffles are Miriam Allen, Paula Berggren, Suresh Canagarajah,
Thomas Crockett, Mary Gorman Hetherington, John Kempf, Frances Murphy, Bobbie
Pollard, David Podoff, David Potash, Francesco Salvati, and Carroll Seron.

Sincerely,

Brian Kell
