Memorandum to: The Baruch College Community
From: President Kathleen Waldron
It is with great sadness that I write to tell you of the death of a
young member of the Baruch College community. Sanjoy Kar, a part-time
member of the Baruch Computing and Technology Center staff for more than
two years, was killed Sunday in a hold-up at the Dunkin Donuts where he
also worked as a manager.
Sanjoy joined BCTC as an intern from La Guardia Community College and
stayed on after his internship ended, planning to study computer science
here at the College. His work mainly involved installing and setting up
computers all over campus, so he became a recognized and welcome face in
many offices. A responsible and dedicated colleague, Sanjoy will be
sorely missed by his friends in BCTC and beyond.
Viewing hours take place this evening and tomorrow mid-day at Edward
Lynch Funeral Home in Sunnyside, Queens (718-784-1525).
