Information and Technology Building Project Updates

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

I am writing to update you on four capital projects, managed by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) and CUNY, taking place in Baruch College's Information and Technology Building (ITB) at 151 East 25th Street.

ITB Skylight Project
The skylight replacement was completed July 2019.

ITB 7th Floor Replacement Project
The tile on the 7th floor is damaged and needs replacement.

The project, which begins this week, will be completed in five phases and done after-hours, from 11 pm until 7 am, to maintain full access for the occupants of and visitors to the floor. In the first phase, all of the old tile will be removed. Once that is completed, the contractors will install new terrazzo tile. We expect the entire project to be completed by the end of November.

Note: At the conclusion of each evening's work, the area will be cleaned and returned to use. No disruption of activities on the floor will occur. As with all construction work, our contractors are required to adhere to the best practices for workplace safety. Our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) officer will be conducting daily morning walk-throughs to ensure that the site has been restored to a hazard-free condition as promised.

ITB Atrium Panel Restoration Project
The project to restore the wood paneling in the atrium will begin at the end of August, starting with installation of scaffolding. The installation, expected to take about a month, will take place after-hours as well. The restoration itself will be completed by the end of November and will include cleaning the interior windows.

ITB Roof Replacement Project
Construction will begin in October 2019, pause during the winter months, and then restart when weather permits. We anticipate that the roof replacement will be completed by spring 2020.
