Baruch Ranked #2 in the U.S. in Safety by College Choice

Baruch College placed #2 in the 2016 “Safest Large Colleges and Universities in America” ranking just released by College Choice. It was the first ranking to focus exclusively on campus safety, using data from the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. News & World Report, school websites, and public records.

According to College Choice, “The Department of Public Safety at Baruch has taken care to balance protection with communication and service. In addition to offering escort aid, counseling, vehicle assists, and campus notifications, the security team at Baruch is thoroughly trained on legal issues, effective communication, customer service, substance abuse, and disability awareness.”

Baruch received high marks in each of the safety categories scoring:

·         100 percent on fire safety

·         100 percent on anti-discrimination

·         100 percent on women’s safety

·         98.3 percent on general safety

·         98.3 percent on party culture

College Choice also recognized Baruch’s previous accolades, stating “Baruch holds many awards and has been lauded for its diversity, social mobility, affordability, and academic reputation.”
