Natural Sciences Assistant Professor Krista C. Dobi, PhD, received a $459,732 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support her research into muscle properties in fruit fly embryos, which could inform treatments for muscle-wasting diseases. She is the first Baruch faculty member to receive a Support of Competitive Research (SCORE) grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences division at the NIH. The award will cover research costs and support five undergraduate student researchers.
