Join the Baruch College Community in a Vigil to Denounce Hate in the Wake of the New Zealand Mosques Attacks

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

The Baruch College community expresses its deepest sympathy to the people of New Zealand, and especially to its Muslim community, in the wake of the heinous attacks that occurred in the town of Christchurch last Friday. Our thoughts are with the people directly impacted by this terrorist attack, and with Muslim communities both here in the U.S. and around the world.

It is important that we come together to show our solidarity with those affected by this senseless act of violence. To that end, the Office of Student Affairs is partnering with the Muslim Student Association, Women in Islam and Muslim Business Association at Baruch to organize a vigil to mark the tragedy in New Zealand and to denounce hate.

The vigil will be held in the Multipurpose Room 1-107 in the Newman Vertical Campus during club hours on Tuesday, March 19, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

Baruch College has a long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusion. We must not and will not allow hatred and violence to divide us.  I urge you to consider participating in this student-led vigil to stand against hatred of all kinds and to stand for inclusion and tolerance.
